Location: Various, Western Australia
Project Methodology: ACCU Scheme’s Reforestation by environmental or mallee plantings FullCAM methodology
Project Size: 197 hectares
About the Project: As a certified carbon neutral business, Wide Open Agriculture is looking to purchase carbon credits directly from their Dirty Clean Food (DCF) farmer network, helping to offset Wide Open Agriculture’s own emissions and enhance the financial resilience of their farmers.
Warren Pensini of Blackwood Valley Beef is the first DCF farmer to be registered under the Clean Energy Regulator for an environmental planting carbon project which feeds into a landscape rehydration project.
In 2023, four additional farms were added to the project, increasing the planted area to approximately 197ha. The project now consists of farms across the wider Wheatbelt region, and provides a fantastic example of how to deliver an aggregated DIY environmental planting project.
