Marketing and Content Lead

The CFF is a registered Australian charity dedicated to implementing carbon projects that contribute towards mitigating the worst effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.

When done right, carbon projects boost the bottom-line, enhance the ecological health of the land and build biodiversity.

We have developed a do-it-yourself model for carbon farming, where we guide landholders along a clear pathway towards running their own carbon project. We provide simple tools, practical resources, and long-term support. We also connect landholders to trusted contractors, project funding and carbon trading opportunities.

About the role

As our Marketing and Content Lead, you will be responsible for how we present ourselves to the world. You’ll help us to educate landholders on the ins and outs of carbon farming, and encourage them to partner with us on carbon projects.

As an agile start-up, we are building many of our processes and resources from the ground up. Our offer is new in the marketplace, so we are looking for someone who is not afraid to work in an evolving environment.

Some of the tasks we anticipate being included in the role are:

  • Develop a marketing strategy in collaboration with the CFF Services Team
  • Developing and distributing regular written, video and visual content across a range of channels, targeting key target audiences
  • Developing and continually improving our content strategy and calendar to ensure alignment across all channels with key brand, marketing and communications objectives
  • Optimising brand recognition and reviewing all our current marketing collateral (website, brochures etc.)
  • Ensuring that content is SEO rich and is optimised to reach our target audience
  • Translating organisation-wide objectives into multichannel and omnichannel brand, marketing, communication and digital strategies
  • Drafting high-level roadmaps for the roll-out of marketing strategies
  • Analysing marketing and communications performance data and developing continual improvement strategies to optimise outcomes
  • Developing detailed budgets for all proposed marketing activities
  • Researching customer and industry trends, and ideating new marketing opportunities
  • Capturing customer feedback data through all possible engagement channels

Who are we looking for?

Are you a one-person comms and marketing team? Happy to design the strategy, then roll your sleeves up and implement the work?

If you need rigid hierarchical structure, established processes and simple repetitive tasks, this isn’t the position for you. This position will suit a proactive and creative individual who thrives on building things from the ground up.  You will have no problem taking action, thinking on the fly and getting things done quickly.

Above all you will be deeply connected to our purpose. We will be able to see tangible lifestyle choices or activities (no matter how small) that show us how your personal values align to our purpose.

Attributes

  • You are a wizard with words and thrive on the challenge of crafting powerful messages.
  • Creative and possessing a passion for design aesthetics.
  • Well connected, ability to engage with stakeholders including journalists and grow our network within the industry.
  • Self-directed, motivated and dependable. You can pre-empt work tasks ahead of being asked.
  • Organised, structured and meticulous. Multi-tasking comes easily.
  • Great communicator and not afraid to speak your mind.
  • Active, decisive and determined.
  • Resilient, resourceful and open-minded. Able to work without guidelines and under time pressure.
  • A team player who knows their limitations and is not afraid to ask for help.

Skills & experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working specifically in the environmental/agricultural industry or coming from a farming background (you must already deeply understand our target audience).
  • Relevant qualifications in Marketing / Communications.
  • Experience in using WordPress and Elementor preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in SEO.
  • Relevant life experiences or volunteering related to environmental causes will be highly regarded.

What we offer

The position is based in the beautiful region of Margaret River, Southwestern Australia. While we would love you to share our home base, we are also open to remote workers.

Compensation will be competitive based on your level of experience. This is a casual position for 10-15 hours a week.

To apply

To apply please include a recent CV, a cover letter outlining why you are the right person for this role, and an example of a piece of content you have produced, explaining:

  • The context for the piece – what were you trying to achieve?
  • The target audience – how did you appeal to them specifically?
  • The impact – how was it received? Did it achieve what you set out to?

This position will close on 28/04/2024. Late applications will not be considered.
