Sam’s attention to detail and relentless quest for answers has positioned him as CFF’s compliance specialist in all things carbon farming.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
The promise of a coffee, putting on a record and then going for a walk through Wooditjup National Park – the best way to spend a morning, and very lucky to have it on our doorstep.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I was deadset certain that I was going to be a professional soccer player until I was about 22, even though I was in the north metropolitan amateur division 6 league. Just always thought it was going to click at some point.
If you were a tree, what tree would you be and why?
Oooooh, that’s very hard. Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans) – tall, dark and handsome? Nah, let’s go with the very dead-looking Woolly Bush (Adenanthos sericeus) I’ve planted in the backyard – thick, fluffy, frustrating and should probably just go in the bin.
When you’re not knee-deep in the soil carbon method, what do you enjoy doing?
Reading the Supplement to the Soil Carbon Method. I’m also fun at parties.
Saddle Club or McLeod’s Daughters?
McLeod’s of course. Tess McLeod is my idol.
