ProTen have completed 200 hectares of environmental planting in the 2022 planting season on their poultry farm in New South Wales.

The CFF team handled the compliance side of things, making sure the project ticked all relevant boxes with the ACCU Scheme methodology. Local land management company, Cassinia handled the on-ground delivery of the project and made sure the trees were planted to ensure optimal growth.

To meet ProTen’s corporate sustainability objectives, a biodiverse species mix was sourced from local nurseries and was planted along the landscape contours to mimic the natural environment. This planting design aims to create a desirable habitat for existing wildlife. The plantings were a combination of seedlings and direct seed to provide a layered canopy. CFF worked with ProTen and Cassinia so the planting design strategically links existing remnant vegetation while mitigating fire risk to the operational areas of the property by incorporating planting buffer zones.
